Since the early pioneering days of the single module design roof, EFCO introduced its double module design in the early 1970s and its double module flat bottom design in the early 1980s.

The initial cost of this double module roof is more than 20% cheaper than the conventionally designed roof. The installation and down time during cold repairs is greatly reduced and the latest distinct interlocking flat bottom design minimises the risk of tin drip during float glass production.

The current technological level has been achieved among others by the company strictly maintaining ISO 9001 quality assurance, the first U.K. furnace company to obtain this certification.

With the ever increasing demand from the glass producers for longer campaigns and lower costs, EFCO is continually monitoring and improving its roof design to maximise performance and maintain its position as the world's number one preferred supplier.
